HAVE FUN. BE SAFE. - Health and Sailing Update
As part of our HAVE FUN. BE SAFE. program, we have worked with health experts to establish a set of rules and procedures that can always be adapted to the general prevailing situation. To ensure the health of our guests, crew members and the population in the destinations and to offer you the best possible cruise experience, the following regulations currently apply:
Vaccination standards
- On cruises of up to 15 nights a Covid-19 vaccination is no longer mandatory. We still recommend all guests 5 years and older to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
- On cruises of more than 15 nights all guests 18 years and older are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (second dose at least 14 days prior to departure). A booster vaccination is required for all guests who have received their second dose more than six months ago.
- On cruises from/to Australia all guests 12 years and older are required to be fully vaccinated againt Covid-19 (second dose at least 14 days prior to departure). A booster vaccination is currently not required but highly recommended as regulations may change.
- On cruises to Grand Turk unvaccinated guests 18 years and older are not permitted to go ashore.
- Please note that all travelers 18 years of age and older are still required to have a full Covid-19 vaccination for entry into the U.S. up to and including 11/05/2023.
Testing standards
- On cruises up to 15 nights, Covid testing is no longer required for vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers. Testing within 3 days prior to departure is still recommended for all guests 5 years and older.
- On cruises of 16 nights or more, all guests 5 years and older must present an official negative PCR or antigen test result no more than 3 days old. Self-testing without medical supervision will not be accepted. Alternatively, for symptom-free guests recovered within 90 days prior to departure whose last positive test result was at least 10 days prior to departure, a certificate of recovery in the form of the positive test result (certified by an official testing agency) will be accepted.
- On cruises from/to Australia, all guests 2 years and older must present a maximum 48-hour-old PCR or 24-hour-old antigen test result at embarkation.
To do before your cruise
- Please complete your online check-in from 14 days prior to departure.
- If vaccination/testing is mandatory on your cruise, we recommend that you upload and check the validity of your vaccination and testing certificates with your booking number via the app "VeriFLY" (available in App Store/Google Play Store) before embarkation.
- Cruises from/to Australia:
o Please complete your Vaccination Survey online immediately after booking (for now only for 2023 sailings).
o In addition, please complete a Health Questionnaire online from 72h prior to departure.
o All guests with destination South Pacific / New Caledonia (ports Noumea or Lifou) need without exception a foreign health insurance including COVID coverage. Proof must be presented at check-in. Lack of proof of insurance may result in boarding being denied.
Further regulations onboard
- Wearing a facemask is generally recommended indoors and may be mandatory, especially on cruises of 16 nights or more.
- We ask that all guests wash and sanitize their hands thoroughly and regularly.
- On cruises from/to Australia the wearing of a facemask is mandatory indoors (also during excursions), during the entire embarkation and disembarkation process as well as in tender boats. This regulation is temporarily valid for Australia departures up to and including 31.12.2022.
- Quarantine Regulations:
o Guests who have been in contact with individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19 or have Covid-19 symptoms during the cruise will be subject to additional testing and may be required to undergo quarantine. In the event of a quarantine, guests will receive a pro-rated Future Cruise Credit for the days spent in quarantine.
o If a guest tests positive prior to embarkation, the cruise cannot be taken and the guest will receive a Future Cruise Credit.
o Carnival will assist in arranging a shoreside quarantine stay if necessary, but the guest will be responsible for any associated costs.
Please note that these regulations may change at short notice in accordance with the general situation. We will of course keep you informed about any changes for your already booked cruise.
